Recipe for sausage roll
What you will need
- 500 g of sausage meat
- 1 pkt MAGGI french onion soup mix
- 2 T chopped parsley flour
- 2 sheets ready-rolled puff pastry
- Tomato sauce
- 1 egg beaten or milk
Method
- Preheat the oven to 220’C.
- Put the sausage meat, soup mix and parsley in a large bowl. Using a fork, stir everything together until thoroughly mixed.
- Divide the mixture into 4 equal pieces. On a chopping board sprinkled with flour, shape each piece of sausage meat into a roll 24cm long.
- Cut each pastry, sheet in half. Spread lightly with tomato sauce. Put a piece of sausage meat on each piece of pastry. Roll up. Pinch with your finger and thumb to seal along the edge of the pastry roll.
- Cut each roll into 6 pieces. Place, with the sealed edge down, on an oven tray. Brush the egg or milk over the rolls.
